VINITALY: 400 YEARS AFTER WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE’S DEATH, BOTTEGA CELEBRATED ROMEO AND JULIET WITH A SPECIAL BOTTLE

On the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death, Verona and Vinitaly inspired Bottega to create a special bottle of Petalo Moscato Il Vino dell’Amore, dedicated to Romeo and Juliet. The bottle, a 3-litre Jeroboam, features a selection of Moscato from the Euganean hills, a sweet sparkling wine with a low alcohol content (6.5% vol.), particularly appreciated by women and young people. This giant bottle is a unique piece, featuring a special collar with a large rose bouquet. The Jeroboam was uncorked on 12th April 2016 at Bottega’s stand, and served with a sponge cake with wild strawberries and rose petals, prepared for this event by the bakery Pasticceria Flego (Verona). The event also featured a performance by the Venetian actors of Compagnia de Calza, who reenacted Romeo and Juliet’s encounter, which could not have taken place without wine in the background. This is why we reserved a special place for Il Vino dell’Amore Petalo Moscato, which Bottega has been producing for 15 years. This sweet sparkling wine celebrates love, starting from its label, and is one of the most appreciated Valentine’s presents, as well as a perfect gift for all the events involving the heart. “Romeo and Juliet”, the great Shakespearian work of art, tells the love story of a young couple hindered by their families, the Montagues and the Capulets, with a tragic and heartbreaking conclusion. Young people reaching Verona from all over the world to visit Juliet’s house and experience its romantic charm can identify themselves in this timeless masterpiece.

CIBUS 2016: GELATO AND GRAPPA

On 10th May 2016, at Cibus exhibition in Parma, Bottega and Gelateria Callipo (based in Pizzo di Calabria, in Southern Italy) presented some new matches between gelato and grappa. A special mention goes to Hazelnut and Chocolate Truffle, enriched by a touch of Grappa Spray Barricata. On the same day, the event was also broadcasted on the national news report Tg5 at 8 pm.

CORRIERE DELLA SERA: BOTTEGA’S TOP RANKING AMONG ITALIAN WINERIES

On 9th May 2016, Corriere della Sera, a major national newspaper, in its special economic report, published a reportage on Italian wine in 2015. In the list of 110 companies ranked by turnover, with €49 million Bottega was ranked 30th; thanks to its 16.1% growth in export turnover, Bottega ranks 15th, and, to its 14% turnover growth, it ranks again 15th in the list related to sales volume growth. If co-ops are not included in the ranking, Bottega ranks 21st, 11th and 10th respectively.

Prosecco Bar Project is working at full speed, with two new openings in Burgas and Varna airports duty free area on 14th and 21st May. Burgas and Varna are well-known tourist destinations on the Black Sea, that travelers mainly from Northern Europe love to visit during the summer.

MEXICO: CAMPARI IS LAUNCHING THE BOTTEGA BRAND

On November 24, 2015 Campari Mexico, our new importer for the Mexican market, launched the Bottega brand in Mexico City. The event, which highly interested the media, was held in a private villa rented for the occasion in the exclusive Colonia Roma district in the centre of the Latin American metropolis. After an official presentation of the brand, first to the press and then to potential distributors and customers, the evening featured tasting of our products (Gold, Rose Gold, White Gold, Petalo and creams) and an exhibition by acrobatic dancers. The presence of various VIPs and opinion leaders contributed to the fame of our brand.

BERLINO VESPA GOLD AT KADEWE

KaDeWe (abbreviation of Kaufhaus des Westens) is Germany's most famous and prestigious shopping mall. Bottega is to be found on the shelves of the beverage department with a selection of spumante wines, grappas and creams. In this context, a privileged exhibition was held from March 14 to 26, 2016, with Vespa Gold and a pie-shaped display.

EDINBURGH: FRINGE FESTIVAL

From August 7th to 31st, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival took place. It is an unconventional artistic exhibition that finds expression in street theater, and which takes place on the Royal Mile, in the medieval historic center of the capital of Scotland. In this suggestive context of the festival, a Bottega Bar was outfitted, dedicated to Gold and Rose Gold. A Gold Vespa incited the curiosity of visitors, emphasizing the Italian-ness of the Bottega brand.

BOTTEGA HARVEST FESTIVAL AND LYRIC OPERA

The now-traditional Harvest Festival (Festa della Vendemmia) was held on Friday, September 11, 2015, at Bottega in Bibano, Godega Sant'Urbano. It came to a climax with a "concert lesson" of opera music, held by Chiara Isotton, emerging young soprano, who recently sang at La Scala in Milan, and has performed, with great success, in Asia. The artist, accompanied by Maestro Federico Brunello on piano, has alternated a classical repertoire of Verdi Bellini and Puccini with a small selection of chamber music pieces. From the same stage, the news was given that Godega di Sant'Urbano has been admitted to the Città del Vino Association. Late in the afternoon, members of the Compagnia de Calza of Venice, dressed in historic costumes from the 1700s, harvested bunches of grapes. This charming vendemmia by the students was concluded with the stomping of the grapes in traditional wooden vats.

BEST SUPPLIER OF THE YEAR

Bottega has received the “Best Supplier Of The Year” prize at Frontier Awards, held on Wednesday 21st October during the TFWA World Exhibition Cannes show. A panel of six top executives from the Travel Retail and Duty Free industry selected Bottega amongst other five prestigious finalists: Bacardi GTR, Buckley London, Lifetrons Switzerland, Mondelez WTR, Versace Escale. Jurors valued the company’s commitment to Travel Retail, and the outstanding performances in the sector.

BOTTEGA SUPPORTS A CAMPAIGN AGAINST VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

November is dedicated to the issue of violence against women, and to this end Doppia Difesa, the association founded by Michelle Hunziker and Giulia Bongiorno to provide legal assistance to women who have suffered from abuse, has involved Rai Cinema to think up an innovative social campaign. The outcome of this partnership have been three advertising spots designed and filmed by the director Gabriele Pignotta. They were presented in Rome at the Capitol Club on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, attended by the two founders of Doppia Difesa and the full cast of the advertising spots, besides several other well known film and show business personalities. Bottega took part in the event with its own wines and grappas. Some of these products were given as prizes in a fundraising lottery for Doppia Difesa's work, which took place during the dinner after the short and the advertising spots were viewed.

TFWA CANNES 2014: BOTTEGA ATTENDS THE EXHIBITION

Bottega took part the 30th edition of TFWA, the prestigious Duty Free and Travel Retail trade show that took place in Cannes from October 27th to 31st 2014. On Sunday, just before the start of the exhibition, the Heinemann Golf Tournament took place in Mandelieu near Cannes. As usual, Bottega sponsored the event offering its Bottega Rose Gold, Bottega Gold sparkling wine, and the new cocktail Bottega Spritz to golfers and public. Bottega also offered a “Grappolo” blown glass bottle in the prestigious 3-liter version, as a prize to the winner of the tournament.

HONG KONG: A SPECIAL BOTTEGA GOLD BOTTLE FOR THE JACKSONS

A special Jeroboam bottle of Bottega Gold, with the writing "B Bottega for The Jacksons" was auctioned as a unique collectible piece at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club 13th Annual Charity Ball. The thirteenth edition of the prestigious event, organized by the Foreign Correspondents' Club and the Po Leung Kuk, was held on November 1, 2014 at the Hong Kong Convention Center district of Wanchai, and involved sponsors of great international visibility. Other four similar bottles were given, as a tribute to their career, to Jackie, Jermaine, Tito and Marlon Jackson, the members of The Jacksons who performed at the event. Bottega participated as usual by supplying a selection of wines and liqueurs which were tasted at the gala dinner. Proceeds from the event are used by the non-profit organization Po Leung Kuk to finance aid programs for disadvantaged children in the Asian metropolis.

BOTTEGA HARVEST FESTIVAL 2014

On September 12, 2014 Bottega celebrated the beginning of the Prosecco DOC grape harvest in the vineyards that surround the headquarters with the ritual event in the sign of the Venetian tradition. The “Serenissime Dame Venice Ensemble”, a string trio of female professionals, performed merry and joyful songs from the 18th Century Venetian repertoire. The three musicians, virtuoso of the viola, violin and cello, dressed 18th Century gowns for the occasion. In the late afternoon, actors of the Compagnia de Calza “I Antichi”, rigorously dressed in historical gowns of the Venetian '700, harvested the Glera grapes that soon will become Prosecco. Immediately after, in the peasant tradition, the grapes were bare foot crushed in traditional wooden vats, by girls dressed in themed costumes.

BOTTEGA GOLD AT THE VENICE FILM FESTIVAL

Bottega participated in the Venice Film Festival, in the role of one of the partners of Rai Cinema. For the entire duration of the event (27 August-6 September 2014) Bottega Gold was served in an Art Nouveau villa reserved for the prestigious film producers. On 4 September, Bottega participated in the evening dedicated to the film "I Nostri ragazzi” (Our Boys) by director Ivano De Matteo, which was held at the Lido di Venezia in the spaces of the Villa degli Autori. The Venetian event was therefore an opportunity to present Bottega Gold in the sphere of the most prestigious Italian film festival, which earned the wine its name as the "Prosecco of the stars."

BOTTEGA: DISTILLERIA WATER FREE

Bottega is a green company, who cares for the conservation of the environment and the consumption of energy. In addition to the geothermal air conditioning, about a month ago a new water recirculation system was introduced in the distillery. Our distillery water consumption at full speed estimated at about 4 cubic meters per hour. In fact with the new system we obtain a total water saving.

BOTTEGA: FIRST PROSECCO BAR IN SCANDINAVIA

The launch of the project was held on January 25th, 2014, aboard the prestigious MS Viking Cinderella ship, on the route Stockholm-Mariehamn. After about two years of study and hard work, Bottega inaugurated its first Bottega Prosecco Bar on the Baltic Sea. This is a concept developed with the aim of enhancing the excellence of Italian food and Italian wine. The philosophy of the “bacaro” bar is the source of inspiration: a concept taken from Venice, which can be reproduced all over the world. The pillar of the project is the "Perfect Match", which is the ideal combination between the typical food of the Italian regional cuisines and the different wines offered by Bottega.

The company Bottega took part for the first time at Benvenuto Brunello. The prestigous event was held from February 21 to 24, 2014 in Montalcino, to present the debut of the new vintage of the famous Brunello. Decanter Asia Wine Awards, the Asian version of the Decanter competition dedicated to wine, was held for the second consecutive year in Hong Kong. Bottega Gold was awarded with a bronze medal, while Petal Pink earned a gold medal and the prestigious "Sweet Veneto Regional Trophy - Best in Show": this award highlights the best sweet wine of the Veneto submitted to the contest.

AMSTERDAM AND VENICE IN THE SIGN OF GOLD

On September 25th, 2013, the Andaz hotel in Amsterdam, in collaboration with the Dutch distributor Fourcroy, organized an afternoon to introduce Bottega to the Dutch press. The theme of event, called "Connected through Gold", recalled the mercantile tradition of Amsterdam and Venice. Experts and journalists of the Dutch capital attended the tasting, which began with a welcome drink Bottega Gold and continued with the following combinations: Bottega Rose Gold and seafood, Il Vino dell’Amore Petalo Moscato and pastries, Alexander Grappa Exquisite and dark chocolate. A speech by Sandro Bottega on the company, its products, their combinations and blown glass bottles further enlivened the event.

On 6th July 2013 the company Bottega attended in the prestigious Center of Military Horse Lancers of Montebello in Rome at X Fashion Polo Day, an event organized by X.Luxury.Excellence.Excess under the patronage of the Embassy of Brazil. Before the polo match between an Italian representative and one of the South American country, was held a fashion show of the designer Nino Lettieri. The event was also attended by Miss Seychelles, immortalized with our Gold sparkling wine between two Rolls Royce. A light brunch, served to approximately 250 persons, was accompanied by our Prosecco DOC and Bottega Gold.

GRAPE HARVEST CELEBRATION: BOTTEGA MET LIRICS

On September 13th 2013, the traditional grape harvest celebration took place in the vineyards surrounding the Bottega headquarters. The event, now in its fifth edition, featured the tenor Francesco Grollo from Treviso as its guest of honor, thanks to the collaboration of the "1st Club of the Opera Francesco Grollo" for the project "TerraLirica". The artist, for the particular occasion, has dedicated a tribute to two great composers of Italian opera: Giuseppe Verdi and Pietro Mascagni, whose birth celebrations both fall in 2013 - respectively for the 200th and 150th anniversary.

Bottega Spritz, the new trendy cocktail based on Limoncino and Millesimato spumante, was invented last year on Miami Beach. Bottega has begun a campaign to promote this cocktail, a combination of fresh Millesimato spumante made from Glera grapes and the intriguing flavours of Sicilian lemons. On Sunday 12 May 2013 the first Bottega Spritz event was held at Controluce, the trendy venue in Brugherio (MI). The new cocktail and the corresponding yellow-coloured gadgets (balloons, T-shirts, glasses and caps) were presented during the evening.

SVALBARD ISLANDS: GRAPPA ALEXANDER PLATINUM TO THE CNR

The Svalbard archipelago, under Norwegian sovereignty since 1925, is located in the northernmost part of the Arctic Ocean, just a few hundred miles from the North Pole. While visiting the Italian CNR national research council base “Dirigibile Italia” in the village of Ny Alisund, journalist Mauro Pertile offered our Grappa Alexander Platinum to the researchers. DFNI: CHARITY BALL 2013

The Charity Ball 2013 was held in London on 19 April 2013, organised by the Duty Free News International magazine. The event collected 450,000 dollars, which were all donated to the London Supply Foundation, chosen owing to its transparency, credibility and honesty. The sum in question will be entirely allocated to building a nursery school in Iguazu in Argentina. Bottega also took part in the event (as supplier of the London Supply group), raffl ing some bottles of Bottega Gold.

BOTTEGA EVENT IN GUAM, MICRONESIA

Bottega, which has been present on the Guam domestic market for several years thanks to the fruitful partnership with its importer, has further boosted its presence on the island. On 2 March 2013, the Guam Hotel Association organised a dinner, sponsored by Bottega wines, for around 300 persons in the prestigious location of the Guam Hyatt Hotel. The following day, the managers and customers of several hotels were invited to lunch in the same venue, to thank them for the support given to our brand. Sandro Bottega took part in both events.

SPOSAMI: FAIR IN CATANIA

In January 2013, “Sposami”, the fair dedicated to everything to do with getting married, took place at “Le Ciminiere” trade fair centre in Catania. Now in its ninth year, the event involved over 150 exhibitors from different sectors. On Saturday 12 January, with its Bottega Gold and glamorous sparkling wines, Bottega took part in the “Teatro del Gusto”, a food and wine event within the fair.

BOTTEGA SPONSOR BREAST HEALTH INTERNATIONAL

The company Bottega, together with duty free and travel retail operators, collected 10,000 euros on sales of Vino dei Poeti Rosé wine during 2012. This sum was donated to Breast Health International to fund special breast cancer treatment and aid programmes for women affected by this illness. In this connection, during an informal ceremony on 19 February at the Hotel Manzoni in Milan, Sandro Bottega presented Susan Schwartz, the BHI president, with a giant cheque made out to the non-profi t foundation.

On occasion of Vinitaly, the company Bottega organised two themed evenings on Sunday 8 and Monday 9 April 2013. The fi rst was a dinner hosted by one of the best-known venues in Verona, Caffè Mazzanti, located in top city meeting place, Piazza delle Erbe. As the aperitif, we presented Lemon Spritz, the new Bottega cocktail based on Millesimato spumante and Limoncino. The second event was held in Villa Cariola, a period residence in Caprino Veronese near Lake Garda.

Germany: Gold evening in Bremen

Bottega Gold warmed up a cold winter evening in the northernmost part of Germany on the 24th of January 2013. The event took place in Bremen during the annual meeting of Brand Compendium, which is one of our most important commercial partners in Germany thanks to its consistent agents' network. The scenery of the meeting was the glamorous Skybar located on the 20th floor of a building from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the city. The event ended up with an Italian dinner during which the products Bottega, along with the new Crema di Limoncino were served.

Cannes 2012: Distilleria Bottega as a protagonist

Distilleria Bottega took part with its own booth to the prestigious TFWA exhibition, the important event dedicated to the Duty Free and Travel Retail market, that took place in Cannes from October 22nd to 26th 2012. On Sunday, just before the start of the exhibition, the Heinemann Golf Tournament took place in Mandelieu (location close to Cannes). Distilleria Bottega, which has been sponsoring the event for several years, offered to golfers and the to public its Bottega Gold sparkling wine. Our company also offered a “Grappolo” blown glass bottle in the prestigious 3-liter version, as a prize for the winner of the tournament. The week of exhibition involved the whole staff Bottega in an intense activity that continued during the evening in the best restaurants of the city, involving customers in theme dinners and tastings of our products.

Le Mondial Du Rosé: Silver Medal to Bottega Rosé

Il Vino dei Poeti Rosé won the silver medal at the contest “Le Mondial du Rosè”, organized by the association “Oenologues de France”. The blind tastings took place in Paris from April 27th to the 29th. Over one thousand wines competed in that event and just 30% of the participants - according to the rules of this contest – is allowed to be awarded. Bottega Rosé was one of the only 8 Italian awarded wines.

On Monday March 26th 2012 the company presented a large painting, inspired by Warhol’s Marilyn reproducing the Gold bottle.
